I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be a photographer. But I did grow up in nature — weekends spent camping in the bush, dirt underfoot, stars overhead, and stories shared around a fire. That early connection to the land never left me. I began my career capturing people — weddings, families, love stories unfolding in the everyday. I was drawn to the emotion, the connection, the way a single frame could hold a whole memory. But even then, my heart kept drifting — out to the bush, to places where the noise dropped away and all that remained was stillness, light, and the quiet presence of the landscape. Eventually, I listened to that pull. After years of IVF and the joy of finally becoming a mum, Corey and I made a big decision. We left the hustle and bustle of Sydney — the familiar place of Camden — and moved to northern Tasmania. We wanted Edith to grow up the way we did: close to the land, with muddy boots, wildflowers in her pockets, and a deep love for the natural world. My love of photography brought us here, but it’s the slower rhythm of life, the stillness of the bush, and the wonder in Edith’s eyes as she explores that keeps us grounded. These days, it’s not just me chasing the light. It’s us — bushwalking, camping, waking up with the birds and watching the sky shift. GET TO KNOW The Story Behind the Lens
I’ve swapped busy weekends and crowded schedules for creeks and cliff tops, highways and backroads. I photograph Australia’s raw beauty — from the high country to the rainforests, from windswept shores to the vast inland plains. Photography, for me, has always been about story. Whether it’s a foggy hillside or a moment of quiet between mother and child, it’s about what the image holds beyond what we see — the feeling, the presence, the truth. Now, I get to share these stories. Through prints crafted slowly in my Tasmanian studio, through road trips and journal entries, through the little hands that help me carry gear through the scrub. This is not just a business. It’s a life — grounded in nature, shaped by family, and led by the light. emily
