I’m Emily O’Brien, an Australian landscape photographer, and my work captures the raw, untamed beauty of the Australian wilderness. With a camera in hand and the wide-open spaces of the Australian landscape as my canvas, I try to capture the quiet moments and raw beauty that remind me why I feel so deeply connected to this place. I grew up surrounded by the rugged landscapes of the Australian bush and developed a deep connection to nature from an early age. Weekend camping trips in the quiet bush—by the campfire, with the sounds of birds and wind through the trees—sparked my love for capturing nature. Today, my photography takes me to some of the country’s most remote and breathtaking locations – from the sun-dappled rainforests of Tasmania to the windswept coastlines of Victoria and the iconic highlands of the Australian Alps. My photography is slow and intentional. I’m drawn to quiet moments—the way light filters through trees, the curve of a branch, the stillness just before dusk. I look for the details that often go unnoticed, capturing the delicate relationship between people and the wild places we move through. Each image holds a story of land, time, and presence—anchored in the solitude and raw beauty I find in the Australian landscape. My prints are not only a visual experience but an emotional journey. Each photograph is carefully crafted in my studio in Tasmania, using archival-quality materials to ensure that the integrity of the landscape I’ve captured remains timeless. My work is sought after by art collectors and nature lovers alike, with each limited edition print offering a rare glimpse into the soul of the Australian wilderness. Through my photography, I hope to inspire others to embrace the simple joys of life, to seek adventure in the great outdoors, and to find stillness amidst the chaos of the world.
