The Snowy River
Kosciusko National Park NSW
Camping by the Snowy River was definitely a memorable experience. The sound of the rushing water and the stunning views of the Snowy Mountains was breathtaking.
It sure was a wet one! We had all sorts of weather from rain, windy, sun, more rain and even sleet snow overnight. During the day, we lazed about around the campfire and enjoyed throwing rocks in the river. In the evening, we sat around the campfire, sharing stories and enjoying each other's company.
The crisp mountain air and star-filled sky made for a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Waking up to the sounds of birds and the fresh crisp air was a feeling I'll never forget.

Edith's favourite thing to do all weekend was to throw rocks in the river or the puddles.
Kosciuszko National Park is one of the most picturesque and diverse natural wonders in Australia. Located in New South Wales, it is home to the highest peak in mainland Australia, Mount Kosciuszko, as well as an abundance of flora and fauna. During the summer months, the park is alive with wildflowers and is perfect for hiking and mountain biking.
In winter, the park transforms into a snow-covered wonderland, with visitors flocking to the ski fields for some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the country. The park's natural beauty is breathtaking, with crystal-clear rivers, alpine lakes, and stunning vistas around every corner. The wildlife is equally diverse, with kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, and over 200 species of birds calling the park home. Kosciuszko National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Australia.

Cooking roast lamb on a campfire in camp ovens is one of my favorite camping traditions. There's something special about the slow cooking process that creates a mouth-watering aroma that fills the entire campsite. It reminds me of the times my family would gather around the fire and spend hours preparing and cooking our meals.
I remember the simplicity of the seasoning and the vegetables we added to the lamb, making the most of the limited ingredients we had while camping. As the lamb cooked, we spent time chatting, playing games, and enjoying each other's company. When it was finally ready, we eagerly opened the camp oven to reveal the most succulent and flavorful roast lamb I have ever tasted.
